GKD
Metal Woven Process Belts |
GKD Process Belts are designed and manufactured to the
highest international standard, providing excellent product support,
consistent heat conducting, flow rates and belt apertures.
|
Our belts are woven with either monofilament or flexible multifilament
cables in the Machine Direction
Our belts can be woven up to 8m wide and up to 150m continuous length.
BSF Process belts are woven on state of the art looms that promote
unrivalled belt stability and support.
BSF Process Belts are manufactured from all types of weavable metal
wires and can also be woven, using a combination of metal and plastic
wires such as the GKD DUOFIL belt.
GKD's
is a world leader in seaming technologies and special edge-securing
techniques.

Weave Construction
|
| The characteristic
of a mesh belt depends on the wire diameters, the number of wires
in both the warp (running) and weft (cross) directions and the weave
pattern. |
A weave pattern is determined by the sequence of intersections, between
the warp and weft wires. The following, details the most common GKD
weave constructions and a brief description of their weave patterns. |
 |
Plain Weave
Warp wires pass over
and under successive weft wires and vice-versa, resulting in an
exact opening that can supplied in all weavable metals and synthetics
belts
|

|
Twilled Weave
The warp wires passes over and under at least
two weft wires offering a smooth surface and excellent running characteristics.
|
 |
Tela Weave
An advanced twilled weave
in a 4 over and 1 under (5-heddle) pattern. This construction offers
very fine mesh openings, a much smoother surface and higher wear-resistance
on the long crimp surface side.
|
 |
Single-Twisted
Single-twisted
means that this mesh has a high grade twisted warp cable in the
running direction and a solid weft wire in the cross direction.
This style offers flexibility in the running direction, and stability
in the cross direction. GKD "single-twisted" process belts
are offered in plain or twilled weaves.
Bundle
Warp Mesh
An advanced single-twisted
process belt. Several twisted warp cables are joined in a specific
pattern to link the weft wires. This construction yields perfect
flatness and high cross stability, especially with perfectly straightened
weft wires.
|
 |
Bar Belt
Bundle
warp conveyor belts, use twisted warp wires which are spaced further
apart than other belts. Bundle Belts also use larger weft cables
(Bars) to enhance cross stability and increase the open area of
the conveyor belt.
|
 |
Trackmatic
GKD Trackmatic
is a very specialized, self-guiding single-twisted conveyor belt.
Please see our specific Trackmatic product information.
|
 |
Lightweight
Trackmatic GKD’s
Lightweight Trackmatic is an advanced Trackmatic,
single-twisted conveyor belt. It offers high air permeability with
reduced belt weight for energy efficiency. Like the Trackmatic,
GKD Lightweight Trackmatic does not need additional guiding systems
offering reliability with little maintenance.
|
GKD is a world leader in seaming
technologies with the philosophy
'Each
belt is only as strong as its seam'.
|
All
GKD seams are strong and flexible with little or non-marking characteristics
and are an
integral part of the belt itself. GKD’s most common seams
include Pin Seam, Soldered Seam, Welded Seam, Endless Woven Seam
and a Hook Seam.
|
Belt Edges
Belt edges
are secured to prevent unravelling, which can cause belt and or
conveyor damage. Typical GKD edge treatments include Straight Selvedge
Edge, Welded Edges, Coated Edges, and Brushed Edges etc...
|
 |
Final
Treatment |
|
In order to achieve absolute belt flatness, uniformity and to relieve
stresses induced by weaving, GKD weave Metal Woven Process Belts
up to 8 meters wide which are then stretched and flattened on their
state of the art machines.
